Grade 4 and 5 students from ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½â€™s Chonburi and Bang Na campuses came together for their first-ever survival camp. Hosted at the Chonburi campus, the event aimed to teach students essential survival skills and then reinforce those skills by applying them to later activities. The camp challenged students to learn how to use available resources to build shelters, cook, and more, all while having fun.

Hands-On Activities and Teamwork
The day was filled with hands-on activities where students learned by doing. They practiced addressing injuries through role-playing scenarios and tied knots to build shelters using rope, bamboo, and tarps. They worked in teams to read different types of maps to solve problems, using this skill in a whole-campus scavenger hunt to find a missing word. When students were working on these activities, they took the lead in solving problems together, with teachers acting as facilitators. The camp also ended with an exciting lesson on building fires and cooking their own food. Students had so much fun throughout the day as they tackled new challenges. Ìý

Building Skills and Leadership
We were thrilled to see the students collaborate and support one another throughout the camp. They displayed impressive leadership, engineering, and survival skills while fostering teamwork and communication. The camp was a great opportunity for students to apply what they had just learned, reinforcing their skills through real-world activities. This memorable experience highlighted their ability to problem-solve, lead, and work together as a team, and we couldn’t be prouder of their efforts.

Our Kindergarten 1 students climbed into the school vans, buckled up and took the short trip to the fire station. As they got there, the firefighters greeted them with big smiles. The firefighters showed our students around the station, and they got to see the big fire truck.Ìý

The little students learned about all the different equipment firefighters use and got to try on some hats and practice holding some equipment. Our students were so excited and eager to take turns trying new things. It was so exciting when the students held onto the water hose and watched the water spray out. The kindergarteners were brave enough to try all the new experiences on that day.Ìý

The firefighters at the BanBueng municipality were amazing at hosting this field trip. The day was made very special because of all the exciting things they had planned for our students. They are real superheroes! Thank you, BanBueng municipality firefighters! We hope to visit again real soon.

The air was filled with excitement and festive cheer as ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ Chonburi prepared for its annual Christmas Gala. Students, parents, and staff gathered on December 14th to celebrate the joyous occasion of the very first Wells Chonburi Christmas Gala, making it a night never to forget.

The highlight of the Christmas Gala was undoubtedly the spectacular performances by ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½’s talented students. From heartwarming carol renditions to lively dance numbers, the stage came alive with our students’ hard work and talents. Parents beamed with pride as their children showcased their creativity and dedication to spreading joy.Ìý

The Christmas Gala served as more than a festive celebration—it was a time for the school community to unite and share our students’ talents. Parents, teachers, and students created lasting memories that extended beyond the holiday season. The opportunities to perform on stage build our students’ confidence and sense of belonging.Ìý

In the true spirit of Christmas giving, ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ Chonburi organized a charity initiative during the Gala. Donations were collected to give to a local school. Parents and students were eager to provide books, toys, stationery and cleaning products to the Ban Huay Yang School around the corner from our school.Ìý The school community came together to positively impact the lives of those in need, embodying the true meaning of the season.

The Christmas Gala at ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ Chonburi celebrated the season’s culture and created an ideal space for the school community to come together, share their talents, and foster the importance of giving back to the community.Ìý

¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ recently, on December 14th, took a trip to the nearby Ban Huay Yang school in Thailand with the aim of fostering a stronger sense of community and extending a helping hand. The visit included a chance for students to connect and a donation drive to support the local school.Ìý

Students, teachers, and parents all pitched in, contributing essential supplies and educational materials to benefit the students and teachers at Ban Huay Yang. The items, ranging from school supplies to basic necessities, were chosen to make a positive impact on the learning environment at the local school. Parents and students were encouraged to donate books and toys for the students. However, the response was overwhelming, with the community donating cleaning products, boxes of toys and piles of books for the Ban Huay Yang School.Ìý

The day kicked off with Wells students and staff arriving at Ban Huay Yang School, ready to engage with their new friends. Both schools got to know each other, sharing activities and experiences and creating connections that went beyond cultural differences and language. The middle school and high school students organized games such as bag painting, volleyball and football games, and activities such as duck duck goose. The students all participated in the activities with enthusiasm.Ìý

¿Û¿Û´«Ã½’s visit to Ban Huay Yang School exemplifies how educational institutions can play a vital role in fostering empathy, understanding, and collaboration. By reaching out to neighboring communities, schools contribute to creating a more interconnected world and making a positive impact on the lives of students. We celebrated the richness of culture and diversity, taking our participants on a fascinating journey of exploration. With a focus on embracing different traditions and customs, we engaged in cultural workshops, where children’s activities and perspectives foster understanding and respect among the group. Our middle school group even tried their skills at making ravioli.Ìý

As we delved into the wonders of nature, we embarked on an adventurous exploration of various habitats. Our young learners discovered the unique ecosystems and the incredible creatures that call these habitats home. Through hands-on activities, such as scavenger hunts outside and observing small creatures, they gained an appreciation for the delicate balance of nature and the importance of preserving our environment. Our talented and passionate team of instructors made sure that each day was filled with joy, laughter, and learning.Ìý

As we bid farewell to this year’s Summer Fun Program, we cherish the lasting memories created during our exploration of culture, habitats, and the enchanting world under the sea. It is our hope that these experiences have inspired a sense of wonder and curiosity for the world around us in each young heart that took part in our program. We also hope that our students built strong friendships with new and old friends and got to know their new teachers better.

We’re already excitedly planning for the next summer, where we hope to create even more magical moments for everyone involved! Don’t forget to join us next June-July for another eventful and exciting summer program.Ìý

Wells Chonburi is a shared vision and collaboration between ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ and Villa Forest. Khun Boum, the Marketing Manager of Villa Forest, shared some words about the vision for this collaboration. Dr. Katina Grigoraskos, Deputy Head of School, along with Wells Chonburi Thai Director, Ms. Chariya (Anne) Chitarri, presented an overview of the Wells philosophy and system and introduced the community to the new Wells Chonburi teaching team, a diverse group of international teachers from around the world: Ms. Shauna, Ms. Kat, Mr. Kris and Mr. Russell from USA, Ms. Nivan, Mr. Frame and Mr. Paul from Thailand, Ms. Thandeka and Ms. Karla from South Africa, and Mr. Brett from New Zealand.

Our two high school student emcees, Lana and Preme, helped inform and entertain the guests throughout the event.

Guests had the opportunity to meet with some of our school leaders, teachers and students to learn more about the school and its programs. There was a classroom demonstration and various activities for families to participate in and get a sense of what learning will look like in the classrooms.Ìý

Our teachers and student clubs host booths with fun activities for both new and prospective students, including planting activities, chalk board, tactile games, and more. Our American Sign Language Club high school leaders also presented about their club.Ìý

Throughout the open house, our high school band gave some wonderful performances, as well as Fleur in Grade 9 with some incredible singing performances.Ìý

Guests also had the chance to meet Foodhouse, our school catering service partner, learn more about their nutritional programs and taste the food students will be eating at school.Ìý

¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ Chairman, Dr. Chang Yao-Lang, opened up the event with a speech about the ethos of the school and its vision for the future. Khun Boum, the Marketing Manager of Villa Forest, also shared some words about the vision for this collaboration between Wells and Villa Forest. Mr. Ray de la ±Ê±ðñ²¹, Head of School, presented an overview of the Wells system, philosophy, accomplishments and notable programs.Ìý

After the presentation, guests had the opportunity to meet with some of our school leaders, alumni and students and ask questions about the school.Ìý

We also had several of our student clubs host booths to spread awareness about their cause, as well as host activities for young children. The clubs included our environmental club, Greenhawks, American Sign Language Club, PAWS, SerWIS (service club), and BDFY, a self-improvement club.Ìý

Throughout the open house, our Thai dancers and high school band students gave some wonderful performances, our student photographers took photos to commemorate the event and we also had two middle school student emcees, June and Kanade, who helped inform and energize the guests throughout the weekend.

Ms. Prim Pupornchai (Class of 2015) also shared about her journey from being a Wells student and the continuous opportunities she has had until present-day, being a teacher at Wells. Ms. Prim was recently accepted into Harvard Graduate School of Education.Ìý

After the presentation, guests had the opportunity to meet with some of our school leaders and ask questions. Throughout the event, our high school band students gave some wonderful performances, our student photographers took photos to commemorate the event and we also had two high school student emcees, who helped inform and energize the crowd throughout the day’s events.
