Although the rain kept us indoors, it certainly didn’t affect our spirits! Children, parents, and teachers all came together, showing wonderful enthusiasm and teamwork. The day was filled with laughter and cheers as everyone took part in a variety of games, thoughtfully designed by our EY Sports Team to meet the needs and interests of all, from our youngest to our parents.

Families joined in for friendly competitions and fun challenges, creating moments of connection and shared celebration. The highlight of the day, as always, was the much-anticipated Tug-of-War—a friendly yet spirited match where all adults, parents, and teachers alike joined the game to defend their team color! The cheers filled the room as the children excitedly supported their parents and teachers.

To wrap up the day, each team was recognized with special prizes, celebrating effort, participation, and team spirit—ensuring that no one was left behind.

It is required that at least one time a year teachers and students practice the escape plan, so they know exactly what to do if the fire alarm goes off in a real emergency. It also gives the teachers a chance to practice emergency procedures that are important in keeping kids safe and accounted for during an emergency. 

The fire fighters arrived at the school early in the morning and the students and staff were all gathered in the schoolyard. They began by introducing themselves and explaining the purpose of the fire drill and presentation. Then, they demonstrated different types of fire extinguishers and explained how to use them. It was so cool to see these firefighters in action, and we all learned so much about fire safety. 

After the presentation, the firefighters gave instructions on how to follow the school’s evacuation plan in case of a fire. We learned about the importance of staying calm during an emergency and listening to the instructions of the teachers and firefighters. Then, the fire drill began, and the alarm was sounded. Everyone followed the evacuation plan and safely exited the building.

In the morning, the teachers trained how to administer CPR. It was an exciting morning with teachers practicing their lifesaving skills on mannequins. CPR training is a course that teaches people how to help someone who is having a heart attack or is unconscious and not breathing. In the training course, the teachers learned how to recognize when someone needs CPR, how to call for emergency help, and how to perform the steps of CPR correctly. CPR training is an important skill to have, as it can save someone’s life in an emergency. 

In the afternoon, one group of teachers learned about social-emotional learning. The workshop for social-emotional learning was a valuable experience for all our teachers. It provides an opportunity to learn and practice skills that promote emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and social competence. These skills are essential for building healthy relationships, managing emotions, and navigating life’s challenges with resilience and confidence. In the workshop, the teachers engaged in activities and discussions that focused on key topics like self-awareness, self-regulation, responsibility, and social awareness. Through interactive exercises and guided reflection, our teachers shared ways to make social-emotional learning part of the learning and school culture. Overall, the workshop is a powerful tool for personal growth and development.

Some teachers of the ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ staff participated in a workshop on identifying and supporting students with special needs. The workshop, led by Autism Specialist Dalia Sutton, focused on providing teachers with the tools to identify common behaviors associated with learning and behavioral disabilities. Mrs. Sutton emphasized the importance of early intervention and accurate observation techniques.

As lifelong learners, our teachers are all eager to learn new knowledge and techniques to develop our students’ learning.
