In Grade 4 Unit of How the world works, students explore states of matter by concentrating on the ways in which water moves between its solid, liquid, and gaseous states in a variety of Earth environments familiar to the students. Students also learned to create/choreograph short dances about the water cycle phrase.

The objectives of this project were to examine and discuss concepts of earth science relating to states of matter and the water cycle through creative movement and choreography. Evaluate each other’s creative efforts. They took positive comments about each other’s performance and had a discussion about how they felt performing in front of their classmates. This is also an opportunity to discuss the elements of dance in relation to what they just did and saw.
