Wells Chonburi Students go on a Suan Thai Field Trip

Students from 4th to 8th grade at �ۿ۴�ý in Chonburi went on a thrilling adventure to Suan Thai in Pattaya. This amazing trip granted them an experience with authentic Thai culture. The day was filled with lots of fun and learning about Thai culture! They cooked, rode on a horse carriage, went on a boat, saw elephants, made crafts, danced, and even helped plant rice. It was a day they’ll never forget!

A Burst of Fun-filled Learning Adventures

Our fun day started with seeing elephants up close, an unreal experience. Then, we rode on a pretty carriage pulled by horses and took a calm ride around the park. Next, we planted rice in an actual rice field. It was muddy but so much fun! After that, we went on a boat ride through a pond full of colorful lotus flowers. The breeze felt nice. It was the perfect end to our exciting day! Overall, each activity provided essential insights into Thai culture’s beauty, traditions, and values, creating a deeper appreciation and understanding for each student.

Tasty Treats

Everyone learned how to make khanom krok, a tasty Thai dessert made from oil, milk, and corn. Then, we customized and created our own som tum, a traditional Thai papaya salad. We worked together in groups, adding ingredients and mixing them. Afterward, we all tasted the khanom krok and som tum we made, which was delicious. Finally, at lunch, we watched dancers in pretty Thai clothes from different regions of Thailand. It was a day we will always remember!

The third grade field trip

Grade 3 Forest in the City Field Trip

The third grade field trip was on Tuesday October 15th. We went to PTT Forest in the City near Suvarnabhumi airport. Approximately 50 students, two teachers and 4 parents joined for the excursion.

The day started from the school taking four busses to the destination. When we reached the destination, we were met my two guides, who showed us around the venue and the explained a number of things to the children. The guides spoke about local flora and how they were, and in some cases, still are used by the local people for various remedies or for general consumption.

We were taken to two different forests. One was densely forested and the other a lot less so. The students noticed that the thicker vegetation was much cooler than the sparse forest and we discussed why they thought this might be.

The guides also brought us on a tree top walk and explained how the area was landfill prior to being a forest with over 200 different native species of trees. They also showed us different leaves, insects and birds we could see along the walk.

Wells Bang Na Grade 2 Field Trip

Wells Bang Na Field Trip

Wells International Grade 2 students from Bang Na joined the classes from the other two campuses’ for our field trip to the Bangkokian Museum. Students excitedly looked at all of the treasures inside of the old Thai houses. Grade 2 student, Jessica thought “the toilets and stairs were ancient because they were made from wood!”

They had so many questions for our guides. The students were very excited about getting to use an old fashioned telephone. They also loved feeding the fish before lunch! Mira said “this field trip was awesome because I liked feeding the fishes and turtles.” Al expressed “I liked seeing the sword on the bed because it was cool!” His friend agreed, “I think the bedroom was so interesting because it looked old!” This was a great opportunity for students to get outside of their comfort zone, ask questions, observe and reflect. The highlight of the day was enjoying some hamburgers outside, picnic style!
