Our K2 students worked hard to showcase their talents and creativity on Friday, December 1,2023.�� From heartwarming acts to delightful displays of skill, the showcase promised to be a memorable event for both parents and students alike. The stage came alive with the energy and enthusiasm of our young stars, creating a joyful atmosphere that resonates with the spirit of our vibrant K2 community.

To add a flavorful twist to the day, we invited our K2 families for a picnic potluck following the showcase. Parents enjoyed the showcase, indulged in the food, and took part in the vibrant conversations that made the day even more enjoyable.

The participation and enthusiasm of all made our community vibrant and dynamic!

In the morning, the teachers trained how to administer CPR. It was an exciting morning with teachers practicing their lifesaving skills on mannequins. CPR training is a course that teaches people how to help someone who is having a heart attack or is unconscious and not breathing. In the training course, the teachers learned how to recognize when someone needs CPR, how to call for emergency help, and how to perform the steps of CPR correctly. CPR training is an important skill to have, as it can save someone’s life in an emergency.��

In the afternoon, one group of teachers learned about social-emotional learning. The workshop for social-emotional learning was a valuable experience for all our teachers. It provides an opportunity to learn and practice skills that promote emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and social competence. These skills are essential for building healthy relationships, managing emotions, and navigating life’s challenges with resilience and confidence. In the workshop, the teachers engaged in activities and discussions that focused on key topics like self-awareness, self-regulation, responsibility, and social awareness. Through interactive exercises and guided reflection, our teachers shared ways to make social-emotional learning part of the learning and school culture. Overall, the workshop is a powerful tool for personal growth and development.

Some teachers of the �ۿ۴�ý staff participated in a workshop on identifying and supporting students with special needs. The workshop, led by Autism Specialist Dalia Sutton, focused on providing teachers with the tools to identify common behaviors associated with learning and behavioral disabilities. Mrs. Sutton emphasized the importance of early intervention and accurate observation techniques.

As lifelong learners, our teachers are all eager to learn new knowledge and techniques to develop our students’ learning.

Our teachers firmly believe in lifelong learning at the Bangna campus of �ۿ۴�ý. As an IB World School, we encourage our students to take risks and try new things by discovering, experimenting, and trying new ideas and activities. So, to be convincing role models to our students, we must practice what we preach.��

Why Should Teachers be Lifelong Learners?

Our world is changing so rapidly that we cannot even predict what our students will be when they grow up. To ensure that our students are ready for that world, teachers must adapt to the constantly changing expectations of society on our students.��

The �ۿ۴�ý in Bangna creates opportunities for teachers to learn new skills, acquire new knowledge, and learn to use new technology. The teachers at the Bangna campus attend frequent personal development opportunities to learn more about how their students learn, plan practical lessons, and collaborate with their colleagues.��

What do the Teachers Learn?

This year, the first professional development showed the teachers new skills and techniques to help our students with emotional regulation. This workshop helped the teachers know better how to support the students’ self-management skills. Also, the new teachers had induction training to learn about the inquiry-based approach and how to evaluate the students’ thinking and research skills. Third, the Thonglor and Bangna campuses joined to learn and practice collaboration. This workshop helped us connect our campuses, share ideas, and learn from each other.��

The �ۿ۴�ý Bangna team has some exciting workshops planned, such as useful assessment and integrating the learner profiles into the school culture. Also, Bangna team has plans to connect with future conventions and plan workshops with the IB group. Watch this space for more information on lifelong learning at the Bangna campus at �ۿ۴�ý.��

We celebrated Teacher’s Day at �ۿ۴�ý on January 17th, 2022. The students at Wells International wanted to show their teachers how much they appreciate them. The students at all levels decided to pamper the teachers with gifts and cards, made thank-you cards and posters, and surprised the teachers with flowers and garlands. The individual classes even had a chance to take some photos outside the classroom.��

Teachers are often expected to wear many hats, such as coach, parent, entertainer, nurse, etc., but the thank you cards and signs of appreciation make it all worth it. Days like this remind us, as teachers, why we decided to take on this profession.

The teachers at �ۿ۴�ý are excited to be back at school. They have been hard at work planning for our return to school, teaching exciting lessons, and supporting the students. The teachers have been working extra hard to ensure our students’ safety with clean classes and learning areas and well-being with the return to school. Celebrating this day together has marked a new chapter after online learning and has brought us all closer together as a community.��

On Thursday, January 16, Wells Bang Na celebrated Teacher’s Appreciation Day.�� Our wonderful Thai department organized tis event to honor our teachers. They made envelopes for every teacher and teacher assistant. Our students wrote letters to their teachers and placed them in the envelopes. They expressed their admiration of their teachers.

Next our students honored our teachers. The grade 5 students gave speeches about their teacher, Mr. Russell. After that, our students gave the teachers miniature flower baskets. Our Bang Na Parent Teacher Organization also gave the teachers silicon coffee cups. They know teachers need their coffee!

Our first grade teacher, Ms. Sunee, gave a comical presentation about the roles of a teacher. These roles include, but are not limited to: a fitness trainer, a choreographer, an artist, a mom and dad, an entertainer, a counselor, a designer and an engineer! Teachers truly do wear many hats! Wells Bang Na would like to thank our passionate and dedicated teachers.

January 16 is an important day to honor teachers. On this occasion, �ۿ۴�ý held Teacher Appreciation Day (Wai Kru) to promote the respectable Thai tradition of giving thanks and appreciating the kindness of teachers. The Thai Language and Culture Department assigned students to provide activities to honor teachers on this special day by singing “Pra Khun Tee Sam”, and giving flowers to thank teachers for their dedication and giving of knowledge, opportunities, support and inspiration to learn.

There were also speeches given by Suraj Mirchandani, a Grade 11 student, and Ms. Chawisa, our school Counselor, about the significance of this day and the importance of honoring and realizing all that teachers do and sacrifice to help students develop.

Overall, these activities reflect the positive relationships between students and teachers in Thai society.

Thank you to all of our teachers for inspiring and teaching our students to their fullest potential, each and every day.
