The Wells School Chonburi students visited the Siri Park and Zoo on Wednesday, March 6th. The eager students enjoyed a day filled with new experiences and exciting things to see. This day created a great opportunity for our students to try new things, be brave and resilient, and practice their social skills in new environments. Siri Park & Zoo

Siri Park & Zoo

The Wells Chonburi students enjoyed a fun bus ride to the park and hopped off to start their adventure. The staff at the park guided our students through the different activities and sights. The students cheered on the piglets at the pig races. They watched the crocodiles during feeding time. The brave students held the pole with meat to dangle it over the crocodiles while the other students enjoyed the surprise as the crocodiles snapped for their food. Another fun activity had the students riding the ponies.

The students moved on to a fourth activity that many of them thought the best. The Wells students were running around the rabbit pen feeding the rabbits. And lastly, the K3s painted canvas bags as a souvenir of an eventful day. After all the excitement, our tired students returned to school after a memorable day. Overall, the day provided valuable learning opportunities with hands-on activities and engaging in relevant conversations with the guides and each other.

Middle School students from ۿ۴ý Chonburi recently went on a field trip to the Science Center in Bangkok. The Wells Middle School students have been learning about Space and were able to apply the knowledge they have learned to all the new things they found during this field trip. It was an exciting journey as they explored the mysteries of the universe.

Planetarium ท้องฟ้าจำลอง

Their first stop was the planetarium, where they watched an amazing show projected onto the dome ceiling. Looking up at the stars, they felt inspired and learned more about space. The students were most interested in learning about the constellations and future space travel.

After the planetarium, they visited the Science Center Exhibition Hall. Here, they found a wide range of interesting things, like interactive exhibits and hands-on experiments. They were amazed by human inventions and the complexities of nature. The students were active and eager to learn throughout the trip. It increased their knowledge of science and made them more curious about the world.

Honesty Matters: Best Practices for Wells International Middle School Students

The middle school students at ۿ۴ý Chonburi arrived at school early on the Saturday morning of January 22nd. Our middle school teachers held a one-day workshop on academic integrity, and most of our students attended. The aim was to foster honesty and ethical behavior in the students’ research and academic writing.

Paraphrasing Instead of Plagiarism

The workshop was divided into various components, including plagiarism, citations and referencing, time management, and digital citizenship, and the students were eager to get started. Firstly, our students discussed our school’s academic integrity policy and unpacked what it focused on. The students analyzed the forms of plagiarism and what the consequences are. Then, they learned about and practiced how to paraphrase.

Academic integrity

Finding References

After a break, the students delved into citations and referencing research. These techniques are valuable for future research and academic writing. Our middle school students are now better equipped to write quality papers. They are more prepared for their path to university.

Academic integrity

Digital Citizenship and Social Media

Lastly, our students spent their last hour solving scenarios about digital citizenship. Our students learned about keeping their information safe and private, being kind online and on social media, and how to protect themselves from the dangers of social media.

Academic integrity

DzԳܲDz

By instilling the principles of academic integrity, we are laying the foundation for a future generation of leaders. These students will approach challenges with integrity, contribute ethically to society, and serve as role models for others. Initiatives like these contribute to a brighter and more principled future. We aim to foster academic integrity into our school culture to build principled and responsible citizens at ۿ۴ý – Chonburi.

Using money is an important skill we need in our everyday life. Grade 2B students are aware of that too and they were very excited to learn that the month of February was all about money. They already knew something about digital currencies used in games, or about coins and bills. In our classes they had a chance to learn about the history of banks, credit/debit cards and mobile banking.  They learned about dollars and used their knowledge to solve different mathematical problems. However, they did not have that much experience touching or using actual money. Thanks to other Wells teachers, we collected more than 8 international currencies for the Grade 2B to explore. The students had a chance to explore more than 8 international currencies from all around the world. They could touch them, compare them and check them for differences and hidden secret pictures. They also recreated a real-life market where they role-played customers and market vendors and used actual Thai baht coins to shop and sell items they found in the classroom. February was certainly a month rich in learning and fun!

SIAM DISCOVERY – ۿ۴ý made a clean sweep as students captured 1st place in both the Primary School Division and Secondary School Division at the 2nd Annual Asia Books Readers’ Theatre Competition. With more than 15 teams in each division, THREE Wells teams passed the preliminary round to make it to the final round held on Wednesday, November 24.

In the Primary Division, the “Five Yellow Rocks” team of Cindy, Pavi, Charvi, Darshan and Samuel went up against six other finalist teams from various international schools and bilingual programs, presenting their theatrical rendition of the children’s picture book That Rabbit Belongs to Emily Brown by Cressida Cowell. The young Wells team took 1st place over the 2nd place team from Satit Kaset Bilingual School and the 3rd place team from Bangkok Pattana.

In the Secondary Division, two teams from Wells were selected to compete in the final round. However, in the end it was the “Roller Coaster Readers” team of Sonya, Natalya, Bhagyasre and Akhil that captured the top prize with their rendition of The Gruffalo’s Child, based on the classic children’s Gruffalo series by Julia Donaldson. Wells was also represented by the “Rolling Tones” team of high school students Harjas, Daryl, Swasti, and Gautham.
