Grade 4 and 5 Students Unite for Survival Camp
Grade 4 and 5 students from ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½â€™s Chonburi and Bang Na campuses came together for their first-ever survival camp. Hosted at the Chonburi campus, the event aimed to teach students essential survival skills and then reinforce those skills by applying them to later activities. The camp challenged students to learn how to use available resources to build shelters, cook, and more, all while having fun.

Hands-On Activities and Teamwork
The day was filled with hands-on activities where students learned by doing. They practiced addressing injuries through role-playing scenarios and tied knots to build shelters using rope, bamboo, and tarps. They worked in teams to read different types of maps to solve problems, using this skill in a whole-campus scavenger hunt to find a missing word. When students were working on these activities, they took the lead in solving problems together, with teachers acting as facilitators. The camp also ended with an exciting lesson on building fires and cooking their own food. Students had so much fun throughout the day as they tackled new challenges. Ìý

Building Skills and Leadership
We were thrilled to see the students collaborate and support one another throughout the camp. They displayed impressive leadership, engineering, and survival skills while fostering teamwork and communication. The camp was a great opportunity for students to apply what they had just learned, reinforcing their skills through real-world activities. This memorable experience highlighted their ability to problem-solve, lead, and work together as a team, and we couldn’t be prouder of their efforts.

Wells animal clubs annually dedicate a special week for animal awareness. Our aim is to raise awareness about animal safety, shelter and most importantly, their coexistence in our environment. This year from February 17th – 21st, S.A.F.E, K9, LOL and PAWS organised this week. Animal Awareness Week featured booths, bake sales, animal shelters, talks and discussions all concerning the importance of coexisting with animals.

Animal Awareness

Day 1: S.A.F.E Club (Monday, February 17)

SAFE’s stands for ‘Save Animals From Experiments’. Our mission is to spread awareness and to sensitize young adults about animal exploitation. We organised several activities throughout the week, which included two talks concerning vivisection and animal tourism. The first talk was led by Ms. Tammi, an animal activist, who strives to make a positive environment for animals by informing young adults about the aftermath of vivisection. This informative speech made students and teachers better aware of the exploitation of animals. Our second talk was regarding animal tourism. Ms. Brighde and Ms. Wichayapat, animal and environmental activists, led the discussion on animal tourism. This thought-provoking discussion left students with motivation to bring about a positive change, a change to help and care for animals. At the end, we accomplished our motive to provoke new ideas and a sincere effort to learn more about animals that cohabit our planet.Ìý

On November 3-4, 2018, international school students from all over Thailand participated in the first ever conference hosted at ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½, On Nut Campus.

Youths for SDGs is an academic event that focuses on the and strives to be a part of this universal call to action. The event objectives included raising awareness about the SDGs, creating a network of youths passionate about making change, and promoting creativity in finding solutions towards current local issues. With those objectives in mind, the event consists of three activities: the Breakout Session, the SDG Quest, and the Case Challenge. High school Youth Leaders led the discussions and activities in the Breakout Session and SDG Quest.

The Breakout Session is an interactive discussion where participants get to explore different themes centered around the SDGs. The SDG Quest is a game where randomly-grouped participants can collaborate in exploring fun activities and booths related to the SDGs. The Case Challenge presents a current real-life local issue to the teams to find creative and feasible solutions to.

High school students from international schools were given the opportunity to network and share ideas, as well as capitalize on their creativity and problem-solving skills. A total of approximately 150 students from 14 international schools around Thailand participated in this event. Schools came from outside of Bangkok to join in the event as well.

The event started off with the opening ceremony, where the conference director and initiator of Youths for SDGs, Prima Pupornchai (Wells’ Class of 2015 alumna) gave a welcoming speech. This was followed by a speech from our guest speaker Mr. Sorawit Paiboonrattanakorn, who gave an inspiring talk about establishing Saturday School, a social enterprise where volunteers teach children life skills on Saturdays.

This fun activity made the students interact and bond with students from other schools.
