ۿ۴ý Bang Na hosted a vibrant and educational event called “Around the World in a Day.” The primary building was transformed into a global adventure, where each class represented a different country. Students and teachers worked together to create unique stations that allowed other classes to explore diverse cultures, traditions, and cuisines. Kindergarten 3B introduced Korea, while Kindergarten 3A showcased Japan. Grade 1 presented Myanmar, Grade 2 shared the colorful culture of Mexico, Grade 3 brought Turkey to life, and Grade 4 delved into Egypt’s rich history. Meanwhile, Grade 5 immersed students in the world of Madagascar. Each station not only featured fun facts and cultural displays but also offered a chance to taste food from these countries or play some games, creating an interactive and flavorful experience for all.
In the Early Years building, the excitement continued with regional-themed activities. The classrooms were divided into different regions of the world, each offering hands-on activities that allowed the younger students to explore the world in a fun and educational way. The Arctic station, filled with sensory play using ice, captivated the children, while the Pacific Islands station invited them to make their own flower necklaces. For a taste of the Wild West, students enjoyed a scavenger hunt and sensory play with sand. In the Arabian Deserts area, children practiced writing Arabic words, and in the Jungle station, they got creative by making their own animal masks. These engaging stations helped the little ones connect with diverse regions through play and learning.
To conclude the day’s global journey, a special performance brought the celebration to life. Each class had a chance to perform something representative of the countries they explored, from songs to dances. Nursery delighted with a Texas Hold’em Kidz Bop performance, while K1 and K2 shared the heartfelt “Everyone Deserves a Home.” The older students continued the tradition with a mix of songs and speeches, including Grade 3’s “A Million Dreams” and Grade 4 & 5’s speeches about their experience being students at an international school. Though the performances were brief, they perfectly showcased the international spirit of the day, making “Around the World in a Day” a memorable event at ۿ۴ý Bang Na.

Grade 4 and 5 Students Unite for Survival Camp
Grade 4 and 5 students from ۿ۴ý’s Chonburi and Bang Na campuses came together for their first-ever survival camp. Hosted at the Chonburi campus, the event aimed to teach students essential survival skills and then reinforce those skills by applying them to later activities. The camp challenged students to learn how to use available resources to build shelters, cook, and more, all while having fun.

Hands-On Activities and Teamwork
The day was filled with hands-on activities where students learned by doing. They practiced addressing injuries through role-playing scenarios and tied knots to build shelters using rope, bamboo, and tarps. They worked in teams to read different types of maps to solve problems, using this skill in a whole-campus scavenger hunt to find a missing word. When students were working on these activities, they took the lead in solving problems together, with teachers acting as facilitators. The camp also ended with an exciting lesson on building fires and cooking their own food. Students had so much fun throughout the day as they tackled new challenges.

Building Skills and Leadership
We were thrilled to see the students collaborate and support one another throughout the camp. They displayed impressive leadership, engineering, and survival skills while fostering teamwork and communication. The camp was a great opportunity for students to apply what they had just learned, reinforcing their skills through real-world activities. This memorable experience highlighted their ability to problem-solve, lead, and work together as a team, and we couldn’t be prouder of their efforts.

As part of our inquiry into the unit “Where We Are in Place and Time,” our students explored how different cultures are shaped by connections between people, comparing people from around the world, and various cultural expressions. To bring this learning to life, we recently hosted a special Show and Tell event where families shared traditional costumes and traditional snacks or dishes from their cultural heritage. Each class had its own table displaying these items, and students from the other classes were invited to explore the displays, ask questions, and learn about the significance of the items. This hands-on experience helped students deepen their understanding of cultural diversity and how traditions vary across the world.

To make the event even more special, we collaborated with our Music Teacher to incorporate music from the cultures represented in our classes. Students listened to traditional songs and even danced together, experiencing the rhythm and joy of cultural celebrations. The Show and Tell event were a wonderful way to wrap up our unit, giving students the opportunity to connect with one another and share parts of their culture. We, the Homeroom Teachers of Nursery, K1A, and K1B, are thankful for the amazing participation from families and the chance for students to celebrate and learn from the diverse backgrounds of their classmates. I changed geography and traditions as cultural influences on the lines of inquiry.
