We received a warm welcome from our Chonburi Municipal office members and their staff, who were willing to explain the uniqueness of these mangrove forests and the importance of using their gallery hall. Then, our students inspected and learned about local woven products as part of the Thai OTOP project. Our students had the luxury of having three guides support us throughout our field trip. Grade 6 students also received instructions for the field trip, an observation worksheet, and location maps. Soon, we were joined by our Chonburi campus students, who took part in this activity with guidance from their teachers.

Students enjoyed walking along the long bridge ramps, admiring nature’s beauty, and seeing mudskippers, crabs, birds, and streams of water flowing back to the sea to join the Gulf of Thailand. Our students also gathered plenty of information on scientific facts about the flora and fauna of our Chonburi mangrove forest, a real gem among several other conservation forests in Thailand. 

Overall, it was a great learning experience out in the field and a chance to apply academic knowledge to the real world. We look forward to continued learning explorations and collaborations between both campuses!

History was made on a sunny Monday morning on December 4th at the ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ Chonburi Campus. The Chonburi campus opened its gates to all Wells Primary students from all four campuses in Thailand. The early morning sun and a cool breeze welcomed the buses and vans as the students arrived in their sports team shirts. The air was charged with anticipation as the entire school community came together to celebrate a day filled with sporting events, teamwork and opportunities to make new friends. 

The Sports Day event was not just a regular sports day; it was a celebration of the unity that defines ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½. The students took turns participating in various events such as swimming, hurdles, running relays, cross-country running, and even tricycle racing. One of the highlights was the tug-of-war event as parents and team members were cheering from the sidelines. Our students showed their resilience during the cross-country racing as they raced around the village lake. Equally important, the students had a chance to cool off in the main school building, where various teams threw balls into the basketball nets. The events were planned to showcase our students’ potential for future teams and events. 

This day, Wells School aimed to bring students and families from different campuses together. The sidelines were filled with cheering families, creating a supportive environment that underscored the importance of community involvement. The event served as a testament to the collaborative efforts required to make a new campus truly feel like home. The parents’, teachers’, and students’ hard work was pivotal to the success of the day. A special thank you goes to the organizing team at Chonburi campus, including the area coordinators, event coordinators, assistants and coaches for their excellent organizational and planning skills.

The inaugural Cross-Campus Sports Day at ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½â€™s new campus was not just an athletic event; it was a celebration of unity, community, and the thrilling journey that lies ahead. We are excited to watch our students make the new campus at ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ Chonburi their own and become a testament to the resilience, spirit, and unity that characterize ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ Chonburi’s newest chapter.

The Chonburi students left early on Friday morning to arrive in time to meet many of the club representatives at the On Nut campus. The representatives talked about their clubs, how they started the clubs and how they support their community. This inspired both the students and teachers to take action in Chonburi and get more involved in the community. 

After the presentations, the students joined the other middle school students in Ms. Ro’s Math class. Following the Pre-algebra class, the students had the opportunity to meet the middle school council and engage in some icebreaker activities. The purpose of these activities was to get the students to know each other a bit better and to start building cross-campus connections for future events and endeavors. 

Then it was time for the highlight of the day. Under the guidance of Mr. Richie, the students jumped into a biosphere project. The students worked together to create a biosphere. The students worked collaboratively to set up their biospheres, to make the biosphere completely self-sustaining. They had to follow instructions and discuss different options of how the biosphere would work. 

Allowing students to participate in cross-campus activities allows them to share ideas and learn from each other. The students are challenged to think critically as they troubleshoot issues that arise within the biosphere. They learn to analyze data, make observations, and make informed decisions to maintain a balanced ecosystem. Also, cross-campus collaboration ensures a system-wide quality of learning as teachers work together to plan and implement lessons. Our language learners find new ways to use English when working with new friends. 

The purpose of a day like this goes beyond making a biosphere. It provides a rich educational experience that promotes scientific understanding, environmental consciousness, teamwork, and a sense of community, while also nurturing skills and values that students can carry with them into the future.

Overall, our students made new connections and friends while building their confidence and independence as young adults. They learned new skills and found new ideas to implement at their individual campuses.
