During their Better World Fair, the Grade 2 students showcased their inventions to their families, friends, and fellow students. The fair was a celebration of their learning and a demonstration of their compassion for the communities around them. Each group presented models and diagrams of their creations, AI-generated images that they made in ICT, and information on the budget required.

The inventions presented by the students were diverse and addressed various sustainable development goals. For instance, some students created underwater drones to help monitor sea life, while others invented medicine dispensing robots, composting machines, or water purification tablets. Their inventions not only showed creativity and inventiveness but also reflected their empathy for the world around them.

Furthermore, the Grade 2 students chose to make a difference beyond their fair by collecting donations and raising money for the Save Elephant Foundation in Chiang Mai. Their compassion for wildlife and the environment is a testament to the impact that education can have on creating global citizens who are socially responsible and conscious.

At Wells Bang Na, we are proud of our Grade 2 students’ inventiveness, compassion, and commitment to making the world a better place. They have shown that even the smallest actions can make a difference, and we hope that their inventions inspire others to think creatively and work towards a sustainable future.

Teachers, students and staff shared in the celebration of learning and accomplishments of our Senior Class, beginning with an introduction from our emcees, Sana Mohammad Iwamoto and Heer Sachinkumar, and two special dance performances, one presented by our Korean Club, followed by a J-Pop medley performed by younger classmen.

The Showcase featured an exhibition of student presentations, highlighting their favorite CAS experiences and memories. Guests were encouraged to chat with the members of the Senior class about the learning and lessons they gained outside of the classroom throughout high school. Our high school service clubs also hosted booths to sell goods and raise money for their respective causes.

Finally, Lana, Brandon, Takayuki and David performed several songs as a very cohesive band, which was followed by our annual tradition of having the Breakdance club as the showcase finale.聽

Congratulations to the Class of 2023! May you continue your lifelong learning journey, developing your strengths and areas of growth, and continuing to make positive contributions to the people and communities around you.聽

More About the CAS Programme at Wells

As a core component for the IB Diploma Programme and Wells graduation requirement, Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS) encourages high school students to be involved in activities as individuals and as part of a team that take place in local, national and international contexts.

Creativity, activity, and service enables students to enhance their personal and interpersonal development as well as their social and civic development, through experiential and service learning and a personal journey of self-discovery that recognizes each student鈥檚 individual strengths, talents, and purpose.

The component鈥檚 three strands, often interwoven with extracurricular activities, are characterized as follows:

This was the first December Wells Without Walls since before the pandemic in 2019. Students and teachers engaged in various activities and workshops within the school walls, and a few trips outside of school and to our other Wells campuses.The field trips our students went on this week included a visit to the Bang Saen Beach for a Love Ocean Life (LOL) beach clean-up, , annual Mercy Center visit and Wells Bang Na Fun Fair.聽

In school, both teachers and students shared their passions and had fun engaging in learning, teamwork, and bonding. Some of the workshops held included: Korean dessert making, Japanese origami and calligraphy, canvas tote bag painting, murder mystery game, media production for the Science department, charcoal drawing, food and culture, and Italian life.

We had some guest speakers throughout the week, including Manish Sethi from to talk about his journey in social enterprise, Mr. Akkared Sakkapannikon to share his knowledge of qigong martial arts, and Mr. Sandeep Chatterjee to host a yoga and meditation workshop, teaching about the 鈥�3 C鈥檚 for a Successful Life鈥�.聽

We also had the High School Theater Show and as entertainment throughout the week, helping spread holiday cheer and school spirit around campus.

On April 2nd, our high school community gathered for a showcase and celebration of the culmination of the Class of 2021’s co-curricular learning journeys. Despite limitations resulting from the pandemic, our Class of 2021 seniors have persevered over the past year, continuing to pursue their passions and remain committed to personal development and growth. This took various forms, including involvement in student-led clubs, athletics, extra-curricular activities, service learning, internships and virtual conferences. All of these experiences have helped them develop valuable life skills, unique talents, and a clearer vision of their future directions after graduation.

Teachers and students shared in the celebration of learning and accomplishments of our Senior Class, beginning with an introduction from our emcees, Soumili Kar and Amr Awad, and special dance performances presented by our Korean Club and some of our senior girls. This was followed by a CAS montage video, highlighting some of the favorite CAS experiences, made by Pooja Sachdev.

The Showcase featured an exhibition of student presentations, highlighting their favorite CAS experiences and memories. Guests were encouraged to chat with the members of the Senior class about the learning and lessons they gained outside of the classroom throughout high school.聽All of our high school service clubs also hosted booths to sell goods and raise money for their respective causes.

Finally, there was a high-demand performance by the Breakdance club, followed by a special song and piano rendition of Miley Cyrus鈥� 鈥楾he Climb鈥� performed by Hrithi Bhattacharya and Pam Chatdecha, dedicated to their classmates.

The Wells Visual Arts Department cordially invites members of our school community to join us for our 4th Annual IB Visual Arts Exhibition. The opening day will take place on Friday, March 20 from 11 AM to 2 PM in the Wells On Nut Campus Gymnasium, and the exhibition will be displayed from the 20th through the 27th of March in our front lobby.

The exhibition is the final assessment of our Class of 2020 IB Visual Arts students. They have exerted a great deal of effort, time and care into their artwork and portfolio and thus, we would like to take this opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments, creativity and hard work.

Student exhibitors from the Class of 2020 include Lucy and Ling, our IBDP students, along with Nick, Minami, Kayo, Sandy, Haruna, and Ern. Art pieces created by students from primary through high school will also be exhibited during this time, showcasing the various talents and creativity throughout our Wells community.

An Open Challenge for Wells’ Future Change Agents

Did you know? Shift Happens鈥�

We are living in exponential times!

So, what will our future look like?

An open challenge was presented to Business Management & Business Studies learners grades 10-12, our potential future change agents.聽 This was an opportunity to demonstrate creative writing, a visionary mind, and also a chance for students to build up their CAS portfolio.聽

Students were challenged to critically examine a concept that is becoming very dominant in today鈥檚 businesses, environment and our personal lives – 鈥楥HANGE鈥� – and think about the way our world is constantly changing. Business students were asked to correspond their personal thoughts and insights with the following title:

鈥淰isualize the future and the impacts on the

nature of business and careers.鈥�

Students who took on this challenge submitted a written blog post in response to this short stimulus video clip, which was posted in . Alongside Ms. Lee, IB Business Management teacher, Dr. Katina, CAS Coordinator, joined the judging panel and selected the winner.
