On Friday, May 31, 2019, ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ graduated its 10th senior class, ready for the transition into the next chapter of their young lives.

After a welcome from Chairman Chang Yao-Lang and a touching farewell from Head of School Ray de la Peña, two awe-inspiring addresses were delivered — first by class valedictorian Lila Abdulla Al Tamimi, then by this year’s Keynote Speaker, international best-selling author Ms. Pashmina Reis de Souza.

On Saturday, May 25, the Class of 2020 hosted ‘Carpe Noctem’, a prom for the graduating Class of 2019. The Grade 11 students organized a photo booth for the guests, as well as activities such as Wells BINGO and the newspaper game.

The Grade 11 hosts presented sashes with superlatives unique to the personality of each member of the graduating class, as well as ‘Seniors’ t-shirts. Some of the members of the graduating class also gave special performances. A special cake was also presented to one of our departing Wells teachers, Mr. Toni, followed by a heartwarming speech by him.

Overall, there was plenty of good food, dancing, laughs and photos to make it a special and memorable event for our Class of 2019. Thank you to the Class of 2020 for hosting and Seniors, your presence and role modeling will be missed!

As a class, you have successfully completed your CAS portfolios and requirements!

It is amazing to see how you all have developed and what you have accomplished over the years in terms of your extracurricular lives. If it is any indication of your futures, then the future is looking bright! Thank you to all of the family members, teachers, staff and school community who have supported, encouraged and inspired you to step out of your comfort zones, take risks, and grow as young, unique individuals.

You are one step closer to graduation, and the world is now your classroom!

From March 15 to the 26, eighteen of the members of the senior Class of 2019 attended the senior trip, a week long trip and cruise tour from Los Angeles to three cities in Mexico. Their first stop was sightseeing around Los Angeles and a stroll down the famous Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills.

The following day, they boarded the Norwegian star, their home for  the next seven days.While on board the ship, they enjoyed various performances, games and activities as a group. The first offshore destination was Puerto Vallarta, where the class took a cultural sightseeing tour around the city, savored some traditional Mexican food, and ziplined through the jungle where the movie ‘Predator’ was filmed.

In Mazatlan, the second stop, the students took a challenging hike with picturesque views of the ocean all the way to the top of a lighthouse. After the hike, they took a boat to Stone Island to appreciate the beach atmosphere and experience life with the locals of Mazatlan.

The third stop was Cabo San Lucas, where the students enjoyed authentic Mexican food and a taxi tour around the city and famous arch of Cabo San Lucas.

After the cruise, the students enjoyed a few days in Los Angeles, where they did some outlet shopping and visited Six Flags Magic Mountain theme park.

Overall, the seniors had many new experiences and quality time spent as a class. They had quite the remarkable adventure to celebrate the end of their high school journey, which ended on a very positive note.

We wish them the best of luck as they embark on their next adventure to university and beyond. Although they will be away from Wells, we hope that Wells will always be a part of them…changing the world, one student at a time!
