Our Head of School, Mr. Ray de la Pe帽补, first presented an overview of the Wells philosophy, education systems and major academic and extracurricular achievements over the years. Wells aims to provide an affordable and quality international education, as well as a diverse range of personalized academic, athletic and extracurricular opportunities for students to develop and thrive based on their unique strengths and talents. To name a few, these opportunities include our Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) programs, elite athlete programs, community service, and University of Hawaii Summer Science Camp.聽

Following the first presentation, Ms. Tina Yang, Chief Operating Officer of European International University (EIU), shared about EIU鈥檚 mission to provide affordable and quality higher education to a diverse group of international students across the globe. She also discussed EIU鈥檚 accomplishments at present and their vision for the future to integrate more blockchain technology and AI into their learning systems. Finally, Mr. Osris Lee, Special Assistant to the Chairman, presented a new concept, 鈥榃ellsverse鈥�, an initiative to utilize technology and create interactive learning and engaging educational experiences for students.聽

After the presentations, the guests were given a tour of our Wells On Nut Campus for the guests to see our facilities and school environment which support the learning and extracurricular activities which happen within the primary, middle and high school.聽

Overall, our guests were very impressed learning about Wells鈥� accomplishments and future plans for continued growth and improvement of quality educational experiences. Wells is happy to collaborate with international partners and would like to extend a sincere thank you to our guests for taking the time to visit our community and learn more about our ethos.

Each year, Wells offers students in grade 10 and above the opportunity to build skills in creative problem solving, programming, and using computational processes to analyze large data sets by taking the AP Computer Science Principles course. This one-year course prepares students to take the AP exam in May, and walk away with skills they can apply to their futures. According to the, having knowledge and skills in technology is one of the three skills sets essential for future workers of 2030. Aside from these skills, students also gain an understanding of how the internet works, cyber security issues, as well as the impacts of computer innovations.

Students who took the exam in May 2019 worked on projects including…

– Augmented Reality(AR)聽

– The Ultimate Test game like tricky trivia

– Bullseye Challenge

In addition to these exciting accomplishments, the College board recognized Wells AP Computer Science Principles class of 2019 with College Board’s Female Diversity Award. Schools honored with the AP Computer Science Female Diversity Award have expanded young women鈥檚 access to AP computer science courses.

Out of the 20,000 institutions that offer AP courses, 818 achieved this important result during the 2018-2019 school year–nearly 20% more than the 685 schools recognized last year. In 2019, 扣扣传媒 was one of 639 recognized in the category of AP Computer Science Principles. 鈥淲ells is empowering young women to see themselves as creators, innovators, and problem-solvers,鈥� said Stefanie Sanford, College Board global policy chief. 鈥淲e hope to see even more high schools inspire female students to harness the potential of an AP computer science education.鈥�

As Wells students begin to make their course selections for grade 10, or are looking ahead as middle schoolers, we encourage them to consider the AP Computer Science Principles course for its rigor in giving them an opportunity to explore the expanding world of computer science and information technology.聽
